IFA Standards
"In order to make Scientology work, it is necessary to hold a standard and this standard must be held very relentlessly. And unless all the actions and all the various techniques applied can be held to a standard of rendition, then Scientology doesn't work; Scientology doesn't work if it's badly done. In other words, the disciplines of Scientology are fully as important as the thoughts or discoveries of Scientology."
An Afternoon at Saint Hill - A tape lecture by Lafayette Ron Hubbard
The home page of the IFA site states, "The International Freezone Association is a non-profit association dedicated to the promotion of the original workable philosophy of Lafayette Ron Hubbard."
The Workable Philosophy of Lafayette Ron Hubbard is the researched and developed philosophy which the IFA accepts as Standard Tech.
Here is a quote from the Technical Dictionary of Scientology Dianetics:
STANDARD TECH, 1. a standardization of processes so that they apply to 100 per cent of the cases to which they are addressed. (Class VIII, No. 19) 2. the accumulation of those exact processes which make a way between humanoid and OT, the exact method of organizing them, the exact method of delivering them, and the exact repair of any errors made on that route. (Class VIII, No. 2) 3. that terribly narrow path which we now call standard tech is composed of those things which, if they are out, inhibit and prohibit all case gain. (Class VIII, No. 1) 4. standard tech is not a process or a series of processes. It is following the rules of processing. (HCOB 26 Feb 70) 5. that tech which has absolutely no arbitraries. (HCOB 23 Aug 68)
This includes standard technology that conforms strictly with the basic philosophy and laws and principles of the technology, including the C/S Series An example being, a specialized rundown that is developed by a C/S to handle a specific case.
Each individual is responsible for their own case and their own integrity. The IFA can not monitor or control either. In fact, the IFA has no wish to regulate an individual member's activities, nor is it the job of the IFA to monitor, control or regulate one's self-determined decisions.
However, when it comes to practicing members, such as those listed on the auditor & group list, as the IFA represents standard tech as outlined above, and as the public look to IFA for direction to standard tech practitioners, such members who advertise or otherwise promote their services on the IFA Auditors and Groups list come under the IFA umbrella and should only be delivering standard technology. In this way, the IFA sees that, within itself, the technology is fully preserved, protected and promoted.
I hope this offers some clarity on why we adopt the above policy.
The important issue, and the reason for the IFA originally, is that LRH's tech is preserved, protected and promoted.
*Note: If there is, by any IFA member or on any page of this web site any apparent or real conflict with the definition of standard tech as issued by LRH then standard tech as issued by LRH takes precedence. Any query should be addressed by going to the Technical Query page and addressing it there.
